ABOUT ME

I’m Truong Hien Tran, currently enrolled at Hanoi – Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

My journey through childhood was a canvas painted with the vibrant hues of Art Attack, a whimsical show on Disney. Each day, I’d lose myself in the enchanting realm of arts and crafts, dedicating hours to weaving wonders from scraps, transforming them into whimsical toys that would leave my friends in sheer awe. This cherished pastime still resides in my heart today, occasionally taking the form of delicate paper creations that I lovingly craft as gifts for my parents on their birthdays. The joy of crafting has also inspired me to co-found Green Canvas, a club with a noble mission – to spread environmental awareness through the art of crafting, breathing new life into discarded materials.

Technology is yet another brushstroke on the canvas of my life. My bookshelves stand as a testament to my insatiable curiosity, adorned with volumes spanning the breadth of scientific knowledge, from the enchanting mysteries of wildlife to the boundless frontiers of planetary exploration. My odyssey into the world of Computer Science began with a humble programming class in 7th grade. What started as a casual dalliance soon grew into an unwavering passion, which I eagerly shared with the world through the creation of Second Chance, a STEM and computer science club committed to bringing the wonders of science to those yearning for knowledge.

In my artistic voyage, I’ve been deeply involved in a project that seeks to offer solace to those afflicted by skin ailments and provide a guiding hand to dermatologists. What began as a simple web soon branched into an intricate network of mini-projects, including an AI model with the power to classify skin lesions and a device designed to monitor the environment. Stay tuned, for this canvas is far from complete, and I’m continually weaving new threads of innovation into its tapestry.

This was my very first high school club, and I’m super proud of it! We’re all about making STEM and computer science available to everyone, regardless of where they come from or how much cash they’ve got. What do we do, you ask? Well, we raise money and teach primary and secondary students about science. It’s super rewarding to see these young minds light up with a passion for tech thanks to what we’re doing.

I started this project to offer a helping hand to cancer patients, and it brings me so much joy to see those smiles on their faces. But there was this one time that broke my heart – we couldn’t make enough congee to feed everyone when we were donating meals at the Vietnam National Geriatric Hospital. It hit me hard and pushed me to go the extra mile in other activities.
